The Secret Life Of Trees
Forests believe in Social Justice and so do I. They accept all species, sizes and health conditions of all trees and give aid to all who are part of the forest. After reading several books about forests, I decided I needed to paint about their Secret Lives and encourage people to become aware of the necessity to preserve and protect them as well as learn about their “humanity”. Their secrets are their extensive and wondrous forms of underground communications, and their leaf and trunk secretions they send out in order to warn other trees and animals of impending danger. If humans followed the lead of forests, humanity would stop creating wars and learn to embrace all human differences.
I create with oil paint in an abstracted color-filled style as this enables me to paint my subjects from my deepest emotions. I begin with lots of physical moving brushstrokes as I try to paint the dance of trees and illustrate the incredible communication skills they hide underground as well as above ground. “It Takes A Forest” to raise and protect a variety of trees that then supply all living creatures with air to breath. My work is an interpretation of the life trees lead and the life lessons they can teach us all.
